Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of search-ai.com.au and all related services (collectively, "the Service") operated by an Australian sole trader ("we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement under Australian law.

2. The service

search-ai provides:

  • A free GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) audit tool that analyses your Shopify store's AI search visibility
  • A paid subscription platform that automatically optimises Shopify product data for AI agent recommendations
  • Reporting and benchmarking tools to track GEO performance over time

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time with reasonable notice to active subscribers.

3. Free GEO audit

The free GEO check at search-ai.com.au analyses your store's publicly accessible pages and returns a GEO Score. This is provided as-is, without warranty. Scores are based on signals we can detect from public data — they are indicative, not definitive.

We do not guarantee that improving your GEO Score will result in specific increases in AI search referrals, sales, or revenue. AI recommendation systems are operated by third parties (OpenAI, Google, Perplexity) and their behaviour is outside our control.

4. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must be 18 years or older and have legal authority to operate the Shopify store you connect
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • One account per Shopify store is permitted
  • We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms

5. Shopify store connection

When you connect your Shopify store, you grant us OAuth access to read and modify product data as described in our Privacy Policy. Specifically:

  • We will never make changes to your products without your explicit approval
  • Optimisation changes are previewed and require your confirmation before being applied
  • You can revoke our access at any time from your Shopify admin under Apps & Sales Channels
  • Revoking access will immediately stop any scheduled optimisations and delete your access token from our systems

You represent that you have the authority to connect the Shopify store and grant the access described above. You must not connect stores you do not own or have permission to manage.

6. Subscriptions and payments

6a. Plans

Paid plans (Starter, Growth, Pro) are billed monthly. Pricing is displayed at search-ai.com.au and may change with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.

6b. Billing

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges to your payment method on the same date each month. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD). search-ai is not currently registered for GST — no GST is charged.

6c. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not provide refunds for partial months. If you experience a service failure on our end, contact us and we will assess a credit or refund at our discretion.

6d. Early access

During the early access period, the first 20 stores are accepted free. Early access users may be transitioned to paid plans with 14 days notice.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • Audit or access stores you do not own or have explicit written permission to manage
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract data from the Service
  • Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or security measures
  • Attempt to manipulate GEO scores or AI platform signals in a deceptive manner
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose under Australian law
  • Resell or sublicense the Service without written agreement

Violation of acceptable use may result in immediate termination without refund.

8. Intellectual property

8a. Our content

The Service, including its design, code, algorithms, GEO scoring methodology, and written content, is owned by search-ai.com.au. All rights reserved. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without written permission.

8b. Your content

You retain ownership of your Shopify store data and product content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to access, analyse, and process your store data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your product data.

8c. Optimised content

AI-generated optimised product titles and descriptions produced by the Service are provided to you for use in your store. We do not assert copyright over generated outputs applied to your products. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before publishing.

9. Third-party services and AI platforms

The Service integrates with third-party platforms including Shopify, Anthropic (Claude), Stripe, and others. Your use of those platforms is subject to their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of third-party services.

AI recommendation platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI, etc.) are operated independently. We make no guarantee that optimisations will result in your products appearing in any specific AI search result. The decisions of AI recommendation systems are outside our control.

search-ai.com.au is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of Shopify Inc., Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or Perplexity.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law):

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements
  • GEO scores and recommendations are provided for informational purposes — they do not constitute professional SEO, legal, or business advice
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost revenue or business interruption

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee or right that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If the Australian Consumer Law applies and we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, your remedy is limited to re-supply of the service or a refund, at our election.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless search-ai.com.au and its operator from any claims, losses, or damages arising from: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these terms; (b) your Shopify store content; or (c) your infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

Before initiating legal proceedings, you agree to contact us at me@search-ai.com.au and attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We will notify active subscribers by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
