search-ai.com.au is an Australian-operated GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) platform that helps Shopify merchants improve how their products appear in AI-powered search recommendations.

• To perform the GEO audit and return your score and recommendations
• To optimise your Shopify product catalogue (only with your explicit approval before any changes are made)
• To send your GEO audit report by email (if you provide your email)
• To send transactional emails (receipts, audit completion notifications)
• To improve the accuracy of our GEO scoring algorithms
• To communicate product updates and relevant information (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive use of the service

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We collect and process personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Our lawful bases are:

• Consent — when you submit your store URL, request a report, or connect your Shopify store
• Contract performance — to deliver the service you have subscribed to
• Legitimate interests — to improve our product, prevent abuse, and communicate about the service

• Data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS ap-southeast-2, Sydney region)
• Shopify access tokens are encrypted at rest
• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
• We apply the principle of least privilege — each component only accesses the data it needs
• No product data is shared with Anthropic or any third-party AI provider beyond what is necessary to perform your requested analysis

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no system is 100% secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.

We use the following third-party services to operate search-ai:

• GEO audit results are retained for 12 months to enable trend tracking and re-scanning
• If you disconnect your Shopify store, your access token is deleted immediately
• If you close your account, all personal data is deleted within 30 days (audit history may be retained in anonymised, aggregated form for benchmarking)
• Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
• Deletion — request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Opt out — unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time
• Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au if you believe we have mishandled your information

search-ai is a business-to-business service intended for adults operating Shopify stores. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
